Shimi Ntuyabaliwe, an experienced manager with a demonstrated history of working in the financial services industry, has been appointed as the new CEO of BRAC Microfinance Sierra Leone. Ntuyabaliwe is skilled in business planning, operations management, risk management, customer service, product development, marketing, and banking. She holds a degree from Havard Kennedy School of Government.
As she starts the New Year 2023, Ntuyabaliwe is grateful for the opportunity to serve as the CEO of BRAC Microfinance, Sierra Leone. This year is promising an exciting journey for her as she discovers Sierra Leone, her new family of BRAC Microfinance, the new friends she will meet along the way, and the long-distance relationship she will maintain with her people back home.
“I am humbled and grateful to God for His many blessings and mercies,” says Ntuyabaliwe. “I am excited to discover myself as I serve my team through the many opportunities and triumphs we will share and of course the challenges we will surmount.”
BRAC began working in Sierra Leone in 2008 with its principal activities being the provision of health services, education, agriculture, livestock, and youth empowerment programs. BRAC is presently operating in the country’s Western area and some parts of the Northern province.
As she begins her tenure as CEO, Ntuyabaliwe wishes everyone a wonderful year ahead, stating, “I pray for a wonderful year to you all, May it be the best year yet.”
BRAC Microfinance Sierra Leone is a subsidiary of BRAC, one of the largest development organizations in the world working to alleviate poverty and empower communities in over 11 countries. The organization provides microfinance services to help low-income individuals and families access credit and other financial services. With Ntuyabaliwe at the helm, the organization is sure to continue its mission of improving the lives of the people of Sierra Leone.
